Hello everyone my name is , EL HAMZA FARKALI this is my story,People often ask me how I became a photographer. The truth is, I never planned to become one.
I grew up in Merzouga, a place where the golden dunes, the silence of the desert, and the warmth of Amazigh hospitality are part of everyday life. At the time, my family owned a small hotel, and one day a professional photographer came to stay with us. I was fascinated by the way he worked. I spent hours watching him, asking questions, and trying to understand how he could turn simple moments into unforgettable memories.
One day, I showed him a few photos I had taken with my phone. He looked at them, smiled, and said something that changed my life:
"You have a good eye. You should become a photographer."
Those words stayed with me.
Soon after, I bought my first camera with all the money I had saved. I knew almost nothing about photography, but I was determined to learn. I spent countless hours practicing, making mistakes, watching tutorials, and improving little by little.
My first professional clients were tourists from China. I was excited, but when I delivered the photos, they weren't satisfied. Of course, I felt disappointed. But instead of giving up, I asked them what they didn't like. Their honest feedback became one of the most valuable lessons of my career. From that moment, I understood that every mistake is an opportunity to grow.
Since then, I have never stopped learning.
Every sunrise in the Sahara, every couple, every family, every traveler, and every portrait has taught me something new. Photography has become more than my profession—it has become my way of telling stories and preserving emotions.
Today, my mission is not simply to create beautiful images. I want people to experience the real Morocco through my work. I want them to discover the beauty of the Sahara, the richness of Amazigh culture, the rhythm of Gnawa music, and the kindness of the people who call this desert home.
